‘Marvel’s Wolverine:’ New game trailer revealed for 2026 release

Marvel and Insomniac Games officially unveiled a new trailer along with cover art for “Marvel’s Wolverine,” which was previously revealed during the summer of 2021, and is now slated for a Fall 2026 release date, all of which was publicly made known during Sony’s PlayStation State of Play Event. 

In addition to a release date, the trailer also featured appearances from Omega Red, Mystique, and a mutant-hunting Sentinel, while Japan, Canada, and Madripoor are among the game’s confirmed locations, and the combat looks to be bloody, fluid, and takes full advantage of the M rating. It was also reported that actor Liam McIntyre (“Spartacus,” “The Flash”) will portray the main character of James “Logan” Howlett, aka Wolverine, via motion capture and voice performance.

An official synopsis for the title reads: “Become a living weapon.” As Wolverine searches for answers about his past, Wolverine will do whatever it takes – unleashing brutal claw combat, violent rage, and relentless determination – to cut through the mystery of the man he used to be.”

It adds, “From Insomniac Games, the developers of the critically acclaimed Marvel’s Spider-Man franchise, comes Marvel’s Wolverine, an all-new take on an iconic character based on Marvel Comics. Developed in collaboration with Marvel Games and Sony Interactive Entertainment, Marvel’s Wolverine coming to PlayStation 5 consoles Fall 2026.”
