Image Comics has announced the upcoming release of “Die: Loaded,” a continuation of the fantasy comic series “Die” by writer Kieron Gillen and artist Stephanie Hans. The new series is scheduled to begin publication on Nov. 12, 2025.

The original “Die” series, which debuted in 2019, concluded with issue no.20 and was nominated for multiple Hugo Awards and won the British Fantasy Award. The story follows a group of friends drawn into a dangerous role-playing game world, often described as a darker take on fantasy adventure narratives.

According to Image Comics, “Die: Loaded” begins one year after the events of the final issue, with the characters reuniting at the wake of their friend Chuck. Although the players believe their time in the game has ended, the story suggests the game itself has not finished with them.

Alongside the new comic, Image will also release “The Die RPG Quickstart Game Guide” in November. The guide is designed to serve as a standalone entry point into the “Die” tabletop role-playing game, including rules, pre-made characters, and a scenario for multiple sessions.

The series’ return was teased earlier this year at San Diego Comic-Con, where promotional artwork for “Die: Loaded” was displayed at the Image Comics booth.

Two covers for the first issue will be available: Cover A by Hans and Cover B by Peach Momoko. In addition to print editions at comic shops, the series will be distributed digitally through Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, Google Play, and other platforms.

Readers interested in revisiting the original series can access it through collected trade paperbacks and a hardcover edition compiling all 20 issues.
