Dark Horse Comics announced this week that “Loud: Stories to Make Your Voice Heard,” a translated anthology of Italian comics creators, has been nominated for the 2025 Ignatz Awards in the “Outstanding Anthology” category.

The work, originally published in Italy, was translated into English by Anna Burton. It features contributions from Anna Cercignano, Elenora Antonioni, Maurizia Rubino, Francesca Torre, La Tram, Lucia Biagi, Vega Guerrieri, Caterina Ferrante, Laure Guglielmo, Davide Costa, Elis A2B, Carmen Guasco, Marta Macolino, and Alessia De Sio, with cover art by Grazia La Padula.

About the anthology

“Loud: Stories to Make Your Voice Heard” is a collection that addresses themes of gender-based violence through personal and fictional narratives. The anthology brings together established and emerging Italian creators who share stories to raise awareness about manipulation, discrimination, and abuse.

The book’s editors have described it as a project intended to encourage discussion and provide solidarity among readers and creators, particularly around the challenges facing women in society and the comics industry.

About the Ignatz Awards

The Ignatz Awards, presented annually at the Small Press Expo in Bethesda, Maryland, recognize outstanding achievements in independent comics. A panel of cartoonists selects nominees, and the expo’s attendees choose winners.

The 2025 awards will be announced later this year. “Loud” will compete in the “Outstanding Anthology” category.
