Downtown Minneapolis becomes ‘Gymnastics City U.S.A.’

MINNEAPOLIS— Downtown Minneapolis was buzzing as it became “Gymnastics City USA” this past weekend. For ten days, from June 21 to the 30, the city hosted various events and activities celebrating gymnastics, a beloved Olympic sport.

The streets were filled with gymnastics enthusiasts and fans worldwide, all eager to see the impressive athleticism and artistry on display. Notable appearances included world-ranked artistic gymnasts, such as Simone Biles and Sunisa Lee, who wowed the audience with their performances at the Target Center. The city truly embraced the spirit of gymnastics, showcasing these extraordinary athletes’ dedication, skill, and passion.

Beginning June 22, 2024, the Minneapolis Convention Center hosted the USA Gymnastics Championships, showcasing athletes’ talent in rhythmic gymnastics, acrobatic gymnastics, and trampoline & tumbling.

The event also included the USAG National Congress and Trade Show, fostering knowledge exchange and networking within the gymnastics community. Additionally, the center welcomed the U.S.A. Gymnastics for All National Championships & Gymfest, uniting participants of all ages and skill levels to celebrate gymnastics. The vibrant atmosphere brought together spectators, athletes, and enthusiasts to celebrate athleticism and camaraderie. See the results below.
