We received our first official look at David Corenswet’s Superman for James Gunn’s upcoming Superhero flick of the same name.

Formerly known as “Superman: Legacy,” Gunn’s upcoming film “Superman” has been rounding out the cast with classic characters from comics while simultaneously teasing looks at Corenswet’s Man of Steel.

Anticipation for the announcement had everyone reeling for the reveal, including Krypton Report’s Tyler Patrick who took a deep dive into the duds of Superman last month.

The reveal of the new super suit had many excited for the update as others criticized the look while recalling and comparing the design to the previous theatrical version worn by Henry Cavill in “Man of Steel” (2013) and “Batman v Superman” (2016).

The newest version of Superman was also facing comparisons to its lower-budget counterparts on The CW, specifically Tyler Hoechlin. Comments aside, the new super suit revealed one thing I was absolutely hoping for… the super briefs!

“Superman” stars David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as star studded Daily Planet reporter Lois Lane, Skyler Gisondo as photographer Jimmy Olsen, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, Nicholas Hoult as classic antagonist Lex Luthor, Neva Howell as Marhta Kent and Pruitt Taylor Vince as Jonathan “Pa” Kent.

The cast also includes Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Terence Rosemore as Otis, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner and María Gabriela de Faría as The Engineer.

“Superman” is slatted for a premier in July 2025.
