The Superman news continues because, great Cesar’s ghost, “Superman” has found their Perry White.
James Gunn has announced Wendell Pierce as our favorite and most iconic editor-in-chief of the Daily Planet, Perry White.
Pierce is known for his work on Amazon’s series “Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan” and HBO’s “The Wire.”
This casting helps shape Superman’s supporting cast even further, bringing the comic book icons together on screen for the first time in decades.
With David Corenswet starring as Clark Kent/Superman, Rachel Brosnahan playing star studded Daily Planet reporter Lois Lane, and Skyler Gisondo as photographer Jimmy Olsen, Pierce’s addition to the cast completes a team that hasn’t been together on screen since 2006’s “Superman Returns.”
The cast also includes Nicholas Hoult as classic antagonist Lex Luthor, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Terence Rosemore as Otis, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner and María Gabriela de Faría as The Engineer.
This news follows Gunn’s announcement yesterday where he gave a sneak preview of the “S” emblem and dropped the Legacy from the title, christening the new one simply “Superman.”
“Superman” is slatted for a premier in July 2025.
