The once up-and-coming actor Jonathan Majors has been fired at Marvel Studios after a Manhattan jury issued a guilty verdict on Dec. 18 in New York City.
Majors was found guilty of reckless assault in the third degree and of harassment following a two-week trial.
Majors was arrested on March 25 after he called 911 saying he found his now ex-partner, Grace Jabbari, in their New York apartment unconscious. Police said they found injuries on Jabbari, including a bruised and fractured finger and a cut behind an ear. Majors initially pled not guilty to all charges.
Majors was set to star as Marvel’s latest antagonist in the franchises next phase of comic book based action flicks. The actor appeared as Kang the Conqueror in “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” “Loki” and was poised to reprise the role in “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.”
Judge Michael Gaffey, who oversaw the trial, set a sentencing date of Feb. 6. Majors faces up to a year in jail, but he could also be sentenced to probation.
