Hundreds of homes destroyed in wildfires near Boulder, Colorado

1 min read

The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office reported that nearly 1,000 homes and other structures were destroyed and hundreds more damaged by the Marshall fire that covered at least 9.4 square miles (24 square kilometers).

Investigators are trying to find the cause of the wind-driven blaze that erupted Thursday and spread quickly in the area located between Denver and Boulder.

Tens of thousands fled their homes and many still remain without power. President Biden on Saturday approved a disaster declaration for the fire zone, opening up new sources of federal aid.
