Congress has summoned Superman to appear before a congressional subcommittee. The Subcommittee chaired by Senator Finch, has convened to ask him about his intentions on Earth, his abilities and special skills and to hopefully bring him under the jurisdiction of the United States Government. There are growing fears on Capitol Hill that because Superman cannot be controlled or coerced in any way, that he might represent a threat to the people of the United States of America and her allies across the globe.
There are many in Washington who are grateful for the existence of Superman, but there are also acutely aware that he is, in fact, an alien from another planet, and should be questioned about his agenda on Earth.
There are those on both sides of the isle that believe this to be nothing more than political theatre and see Superman as nothing but a force for good. They site numerous instances where Superman has made the difference in saving hundreds if not thousands of lives from ending the alien attack over Metropolis to saving trapped miners. The list of his heroics grows every day, and many feel that instead of his subpoena, Superman deserves our undying gratitude. Others, however are not as sure. Some feel that an unchecked power as great as Superman undermines the US government in it’s abilities to conduct business of the people both at home and abroad.
Another issue at hand is discussing the threat to the United States and its allies from other aliens who may either be following Superman to Earth or who may already be here among us. We sill have no idea how long Superman has been on the planet, how many other Super men and women there might be and what their intentions are. At this point there are far more questions than answers, and the Senate Subcommittee wants to get the truth behind some of these very real issues.
The message has been spread on social media as well as print and broadcast media. It is believed that…
