House Democrats have unveiled an article of impeachment against President Trump accusing him of inciting insurrection in relation to the January 6 siege at the US Capitol, according to reports. Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced in a letter to colleagues on Sunday that the House will introduce a resolution on Monday calling on Vice President Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment to declare President Trump “incapable of executing the duties of his office.”

The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) today announced the new variant strain of the SARS-CoV-2 virus first detected in the United Kingdom was identified by genomic sequencing in positive specimens from five residents of four different counties in the Twin Cities metro area. Four of the cases were identified through the MDH Public Health Laboratory, and one was identified through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Amazon has removed Parler from its web hosting services on Saturday in a move that could force the site offline if it cannot find a new host by the time the ban goes into effect on Sunday, BuzzFeed and CNN report. The move comes after Google and Apple both suspended the Parler app from the Google Play Store and App Store respectively.

Multiple cities across Pakistan are experiencing a blackout. Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Hamza Shafqaat said that the National Transmission Despatch Company’s lines tripped, causing the outage. He also said that it would likely take hours before power is restored.

Evans, who was charged in federal court in connection with the insurrection that took place at the US Capitol in Wednesday, has resigned from the state’s House of Delegates. Evans released a statement that read, in part: “I take full responsibility for my actions, and deeply regret any hurt, pain or embarrassment I may have caused my family, friends, constituents and fellow West Virginians.”
