Pedro Pascal could have a fantastic role in his resume of characters played.

According to an article on “Deadline,” Pascal is in the running to portray Reed Richards, or Mr. Fantastic, in the upcoming Marvel Studios film “Fantastic Four.”

Sources have told Deadline that while it is not official that Pascal will portray the role, they did say that the actor is definitely in talks. The sources also added that Pascal’s scheduling is being arranged as he has other projects which include the HBO series “The Last Of Us” and two upcoming films “Gladiator 2” and “Weapons.” All which are expected to shoot next year/

In addition to a heavy filming schedule, Pascal also is expected to be doing voice work for Season Four of the Disney+ “Star Wars” series “The Mandalorian” as the titular character, the Mandalorian Din Djarrin.

If Pascal is officially cast as the leader of the Fantastic Four, it will add a palette of characters or roles he portrayed including the aforementioned Mandalorian Din Djarrin, Joel Miller from “The Last Of Us,” DEA Agent Javier Pena from the Netflix series “Narcos,” and Maxwell Lord in “Wonder Woman 1984.”

Before becoming Mr. Fantastic. Reed Richards was a brilliant scientist who recruited his best friend Ben Grimm, his girlfriend (and future wife) Susan Storm, and her brother Johnny Storm to travel in space on a rocketship. During the travel, the four would be hit with cosmic rays which would grant them abilities.

Reed would become Mr. Fantastic and have the ability to stretch his body and limbs. In addition, Susan would become the Invisible Woman due to her ability to turn invisible; Johnny would become the Human Torch, a pyromancer who can engulf his entire body into flames; and Benn would become The Thing, an orange golem-like man with superhuman strength.

Several actors have been in line to play Mr. Fantastic including Adam Driver, another “Star Wars” alumnus and Jake Gylenhall. The role was previously portrayed by Ioan Grufford in the 2005 film “Fantastic Four” and its 2007 sequel “Fantastic Four: The Rise of the Silver Surfer.” He would also be portrayed by Miles Teller in the 2015 “Fantastic Four” film and most recently by John Krasnsinski in the 2022 film “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.”

The fan response to Pascal’s possible casting as Mr. Fantastic has been mixed with some supporting the casting with others, while acknowledging his acting ability, against it. In addition to the reaction, some publications like “Discussing Film”  took to X, formerly Twitter, to note that the casting was official while “Deadline” said that it was not confirmed.

Marvel’s “Fantastic Four “ is expected to hit theaters in 2025
