Trump won a straw poll at the 2021 Conservative Political Action Conference on Sunday, with 55 percent preferring him for a presidential run in 2024, and said his political journey is “far from over” during a headlining appearance.

In the speech, Trump indicated his support for the Republican Party, but also suggested he would target lawmakers who voted to impeach him. Trump also repeated many false election fraud claims related to his loss in the 2020 presidential election to Joe Biden, according to media outlets including ABC, USA Today and AP.

Trump denied reports that he will start a new political party and called for unity among the Republicans.

“I want you to know that I am going to continue to fight right by your side… we’re not starting new parties… we have the Republican Party,” Trump said.

Trump called speculation he was starting a new political party “fake news.” Donald Trump lost both the Electoral College and the popular vote in 2020 US presidential election.
